How It All Started
Western Obsessions was founded by Kurt Belding out of a belief that hunting TV should look like real hunting — not a highlight reel.
After years of watching hunting shows that felt scripted and polished, Kurt set out to do it differently. He wanted to document hunts the way they actually happen — the blown stalks, the missed shots, the unforeseen mishaps, and yes, the successes too.
What started as a TV show quickly grew into something bigger. Viewers connected with the honesty, and that community became the foundation for everything Western Obsessions is today — a hunting show, a guided trips business, and a brand built by hunters who just want to share the experience.
We are not claiming to be expert hunters. Every adventure is a learning experience we share with our audience, because that is what hunting actually is — and it deserves to be shown honestly.
