The king of wolf hunts! This Arctic wolf hunt is one of the most exciting adventures in North America. The winter tundra is cold and extreme, but it offers a majestic beauty unlike anywhere else in the world.
The Adventure
Your adventure begins by vehicle along the extensive ice road systems that run through the Northwest Territories and Nunavut — the same systems made famous by season one of “Ice Road Truckers.” You’ll enter regions impossible to access during any other season and hunt areas that see no hunting pressure for 10 months of the year.
A Unique Hunting Style
In the Northwest Territories, it is legal to chase a wolf on a snowmobile if the intent is to kill it. This makes for an extremely exciting style of hunt. The wolf hunts its prey by running it down and overpowering it — hunting a wolf the exact same way it hunts its prey is as fair chase as it gets.
Imagine riding along from hilltop to hilltop, looking over hundreds of miles of tundra, then coming over a rise and seeing a pack of wolves out in the middle of a frozen lake. You have two tags in your pocket and a loaded rifle across your lap. Within minutes, you’re 10 feet away from the prettiest predator you’ve ever seen running flat out beside the snowmobile.
Accommodations
Your accommodations will be in custom-designed trailers pulled behind pickup trucks. These cabins on wheels stay warm and are very comfortable. The camp stays extremely mobile as wolves move to different areas. Home-cooked meals are provided throughout the hunt.
Success Rate
Each hunter has two tags, with the focus on making sure both hunters get a wolf. This hunt has been 100% successful over the past 7 years. Arctic weather is variable and can impact hunts, but the team hunts hard and the success rate speaks for itself.
