Colorado has long been known as the elk hunting capital of the West. With the largest elk herds and OVER-THE-COUNTER TAGS, it remains the number one destination for western dream hunts.
You’ll have exclusive access to 646 acres of prime private land featuring a diverse mix of aspen groves and pine forest. The terrain ranges from 8,800 to 9,800 feet in elevation, creating ideal elk habitat with:
- Two natural springs providing year-round water
- Multiple wallows throughout the property
- Four ponds regularly used by elk
- Thick aspen stands offering sanctuary bedding areas
The property is bordered by private land to the east, west, and north, with national forest to the south. This unique positioning funnels elk onto the property as hunting pressure builds on public land. Hunters with unit-wide tags can access the adjacent national forest, though it’s often unnecessary—the property has everything elk need to thrive.
When hunted intelligently and without excessive pressure, hunters can remain in elk all week without ever leaving the private land. If hunters choose to hunt the national forest, they will have direct access to over 127,00acres.
ADDITIONAL OPPORTUNITIES
Black Bear: The area has an excellent bear population. OTC archery tags are available, and rifle tags can be drawn in the first season with zero points. We highly recommend keeping a bear tag in your pocket. There is also an early September rifle tag that can be drawn at zero points that will overlap the archery seasons.
SUCCESS RATES & HUNT QUALITY
- Archery Season: 80%+ opportunity on bulls
- Rifle Season: 90%+ opportunity on bulls
- Recent Season: Filled 4 of 6 bull tags across all seasons
We limit hunting pressure by hosting only 6–8 total hunters annually across all seasons. This is an opportunity hunt with high elk densities and exceptional vocal activity during archery and first rifle seasons.
Trophy Potential: Hunters typically have opportunities at 5×5 or better bulls, with several 280–300″ class 6×6 bulls taken each year. This hunt is a high density population opportunity hunt.
