Hunt difficulty ranges from low to moderate depending on the season and snowfall conditions. Large bands of rams regularly move along the ridgelines, feeding on rolling hills of rocky terrain and grass-filled pockets. Bachelor herds are present nearly year-round, and during the rut, large groups congregate across the concession. Whether you are glassing from the lodge or working a ridgeline on foot, expect to see plentiful mature rams as you select the ideal trophy.
Hunt Area
The Wakhan Corridor is a breathtaking and historically rich mountainous region in eastern Tajikistan. The concession spans 208,000 hectares of prime Marco Polo habitat, with sheep regularly migrating through the area and providing consistent opportunities to hunt different herds. The terrain consists of sweeping mountain ridges, rocky slopes, and grassy valleys — classic high-altitude sheep country. The Lodge
Completed in late 2021, the private River Lodge was built with the discerning hunter in mind. It comfortably sleeps 8 guests, but only 2 hunters are scheduled at a time unless otherwise requested. The lodge is not shared with other outfitters. Amenities include heated floors, individual bedrooms, three full western bathrooms, a fireplace, modern bedding, a hot water shower, a sauna, and a full kitchen with a dedicated chef. This is uncommon comfort for a mountain sheep hunt in Central Asia.
