Southwest Colorado’s private ranchland holds some of the best elk hunting in the state. With high elk density, limited hunting pressure, and comfortable lodge accommodations, this is the hunt for anyone who wants a high-success elk experience without the demands of a backcountry horseback trip.
This hunt takes place on some of the finest private land that southwest Colorado has to offer. The terrain includes open meadows, scrub oak ridges, and ponderosa pine timber — ideal elk habitat that consistently produces quality bulls. With high elk numbers on the property, you’ll have plenty of opportunity throughout your hunt. The combination of private land access and experienced guides gives this hunt one of the highest success rates in the region.
You’ll stay in a comfortable lodge with all the amenities — no wall tents or sleeping on the ground. Meals are prepared for you, and after a day of hunting you can relax in comfort. Guide service, food, and lodging are all included in the price. Hunts are fully guided with a 2×1 ratio, and 1×1 private guide upgrades are available.
Second and third rifle season elk tags are available over the counter. Archery and other season tags are draw-only, typically requiring no preference points. The Colorado draw deadline is the first week of April.
