Classic Texas whitetail hunting the way it should be done — carefully managed private ranches in the Hill Country where genetics, age, and smart management produce heavy, mature bucks year after year. This is a comfortable, high-success deer camp built for hunters of all ages and experience levels, from a first buck to a wall-hanger you’ll never stop talking about.
The hunt is offered at three levels, which makes it one of the most flexible whitetail trips we book: a management buck hunt for deer scoring up to 130 inches gross, and trophy hunts for bucks in the 130-to-160-inch class. Runs November through early January, with prime dates during the rut. If Texas is calling, we also book a free-range Hill Country axis deer hunt with this same crew and a year-round Texas hog hunt.
The Hunt
Your guides adapt the approach to the conditions and the deer: comfortable blind setups over feeders and travel corridors, and during the rut, rattling sessions and spot-and-stalk hunting for mature bucks on their feet. Hunts run 3 days — two full hunting days plus two half days on arrival and departure — guided 2×1, with 1×1 guiding available for an additional fee.
Trophy Quality
Management bucks run up to 130 inches gross — mature, heavy-bodied Texas deer that make outstanding first bucks and freezer hunts. The trophy tiers cover bucks from 130 all the way up to 160 inches, with deer in that class taken on these ranches every season. Ranch management keeps the age structure strong, so you’re hunting bucks that have had the years to grow.

Physical Level
Easy to moderate. Most hunting is done from blinds and by vehicle with short walks, making this a great fit for youth hunters, older hunters, and anyone easing into western-style hunting — while rut-phase spot-and-stalk keeps it interesting for hunters who want to work for it.
Trip Requirements
A valid Texas hunting license is required. Bring a deer-capable rifle you’re comfortable with, quality optics, and clothing for Texas late fall — warm mornings in the blind can turn into cold, windy afternoons.
